I. When to grow cauliflower plants?

Cauliflower is said to be grown best during the fall season however, can be grown in spring too. 

1. Spring planting:

Seeds should be sown indoors four to five weeks before the last spring frost date. Plant seeds 3 to 6 inches apart and up to 1/2 inch deep. Consistently water the seeds for successful germination of seeds. Prepare the seedlings for outdoor planting 2 to 4 weeks before the last spring frost.

2. Fall planting:

The fall crop can be planted 6 to 8 weeks before the first fall frost date, but after the average daytime temperature falls below 75°F. Provide shade during the hot summer months if necessary.

The distance between rows should be 30 inches, with plants spaced 18 to 24 inches apart. If necessary, cover plants with old milk jugs in early spring to prevent frost damage.
